Ladder Safety – Trestle Ladder Warning
HAZARD: Trestle ladders can be hazardous when modified or used for purposes for which they were not designed. Climbing the vertical extension “fly” section of the ladder can result in falls and tipping the ladder over. Removing the vertical extension to use as a single ladder is also prohibited.

Vehicle Housekeeping – Battery Storage
HAZARD
VSC Risk Management has identified fire and chemical hazard exposures present in company vehicles due to improper storage of batteries and flammable chemicals. New and used batteries are stored unsecured in VSC vans and trucks. The battery terminals are uncovered and therefore can ignite a fire.
