WEEK 3

LADDER SAFETY

WEEK 4

STOP WORK !!!

Stop Work Authority (SWA)

Do I feel safe or understand how to do the task assigned? Everyone has the power to stop work when feeling unsafe. Stop Work Authority (SWA). It is too late to ask yourself this question after an accident has happened to you, and you or your co-worker has died or been injured. We all have a responsibility to watch out for one another and others, so speak up and think to yourself “what if that was me doing this unsafe act, I would want someone to stop me and would my family like me doing it this way.”

What happens when I die or get hurt?

  • You cannot spend time with your family, your family must plan a funeral
  • Your wife and children do not have a farther
  • You cannot hold your wife and kids one more time
  • Life is not a game or movie, you can start over or hit reset
  • Missed time from work, no work no pay
  • Long term problems related to your injury not able to conduct your favorite hobbies

How do we fix this problem?

  • Wear all proper Personal Protective Equipment
  • SPEAK UP when something is not correct or is unsafe tell your supervisor immediately and have the problem fixed
  • Look out for one another, you are not a snitch or telling on them you are saving their life
  • Do not conduct short cuts or take chances
  • Attend all safety meetings and take them seriously

“REMEMBER SAFETY IS BUILT ONE STEP AT A TIME, COME HOME ALIVE EVERYDAY”
